Last week we received a message from Sara Van Mulligen: ” My 5 year old son raised $80 ‘for the eagles’ at his birthday party last Saturday by asking his friends to bring donations instead of gifts. I’d like to have him come with me to drop off the money somewhere in person if at all possible. I want him to see that it actually goes somewhere….. ” We arranged for Caleb to come to the annual Eagle Watch Volunteer Orientation and Training event at Brackendale Art Gallery yesterday, so he could bring his donation and meet some of the volunteers.
After Caleb presented his cheque, he told the volunteers about his love for eagles. Judith Knapp, our Education and Recruiting Coordinator, presented Caleb with an eagle pin and invited him to become an Eagle Watch volunteer when he is ready.
Our thanks to Caleb and his friends for their generosity and concern for wildlife, and also to his parents for their support and for the example they set.
