Nature Outings

General Information

Whenever Nature Outings are scheduled, they will be posted here on the SES website and on the SES Facebook page. Activities range from gentle walks to more strenuous hikes and explorations. Along the way we enjoy being ‘out there’, collect observations for the Biodiversity Squamish project, and learn from one another in an informal setting.

Does your busy life make it impractical to attend scheduled outings? Check out Biodiversity Squamish!  On the home page, see “About” and click on ‘more’ for an expanded description. Our iNaturalist project brings you in touch with a community of naturalists and professionals near and far. Participate in your own time and with others as we document the flora and fauna of our local area, research historical data from this area and collaborate with other groups.  A free iNaturalist app is available to help with identification.  Join the Biodiversity Squamish Facebook group.  You are most welcome to contact Judith Holm for more information and to find the company of others on outings.

In some cases, participants are required to register in advance, and this is clearly stated in the notice about the outing. Here’s a link to the waiver that each participant needs to sign for this kind of outing, so that you can read it in your own time.

Our outings are led by volunteers and are offered free of charge. Donations are welcome.
