Birds and birding have always been a core interest for members of our Society. In this spirit, one of our long-time members enjoys making special birdhouses and he makes them available as incentives to encourage people to donate. While the houses are functional*, most people want to display them and enjoy them for their originality and craftsmanship. The materials are re-purposed and they are not considered to have a cash value. With a gift of $75 or more you can choose from the available houses and also receive a tax receipt for the full amount of your gift.
If you’re interested, please contact us. The birdhouses are available for pickup in Squamish, with donation by cash or Interac e-transfer. Our Treasurer will contact you about details as needed for payment and preparing a tax receipt.
Here are some of the inspired creations! Each one is unique. Please inquire for a list of currently available houses:
*The church birdhouse is just 6 cm deep so isn’t functional, but the bell rings!
Banner photo: These EagleWatch legacy houses were all made from a single EagleWatch sign which has been replaced and from a single board found in a pile of construction waste dumped near the airport. It was a challenge to finish the house at left: 15 scraps were used to cover the front.
