Celebrate Earth Day with us – April 22 and 23

This year marks the 25th Anniversary of Earth Day and the Squamish Environment Society (SES) is hosting Earth Day celebrations.

Saturday, April 22, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

Where:  Junction Park (between Cleveland Ave and Logger’s Lane, at Main St in Squamish)

Activities will include:

  • Family-friendly Scavenger Hunt (with prizes from Climb On Squamish)
  • Earth Day Planting Project by Squamish River Watershed Society (11:00 am to 2:00 pm) (For more information)
  • Information booths featuring SES, EagleWatch, Nature Kids, Squamish CAN, Squamish Trails Society and WildSafeBC
  • Guided walks in the Estuary: birds at 10:00 am and plants at 1:30 pm
  • Children’s activities and information on the launch of a NatureKids BC club in Squamish
  • Bird boxes will be available for purchase by donation
  • Information on the launch of a Biodiversity Squamish citizen science project

Sunday, April 23

Activities will include:

  • Pitch-In week Community Trail Clean Up coordinated by the Squamish Trails Society. Meet at 2:00 pm at the west end of Bailey street near the railway crossing.  (A map will be posted on Facebook by April 17.) Gloves and bags will be provided.
  • Screening of The Messenger at 7:00 pm.
