The next Squamish Estuary Monthly Bird Count will be held on Sunday, July 12, 2020, starting at 7:00 a.m. This is the first count open to everyone since COVID-19 made its appearance. There are a few changes to our normal procedures, in order to ensure physical distancing and keep everyone safe.
Please meet at the O’Siyam Pavilion, one block north of our usual meeting place at the Brew Pub. At the O’Siyam Pavilion we will form four groups to cover four different areas of the estuary. The count lasts four to five hours, so bring a little snack, if you wish.
- We will meet at the Pavilion, an open-air setting to form our groups. We will not meet again after the count, for lunch, as we usually do.
- Be prepared to drive your own car to the count locations, as other birders may not feel comfortable to have strangers in their cars.
- Wear a mask, if you wish.
- Please respect social distancing guidelines and keep a minimum of 2m from others.
