Current Programs
Our programs are the paths we choose to help us work toward our goals. All programs rely on volunteers. Current programs include:
Youth
We recognize that educating young people about nature is essential if we wish to protect our environment. Our program for youth is not a separate set of activities, but rather an approach which seeks to integrate the work of many groups and individuals. We welcome young people along with all others into our core programs, including monthly Estuary bird counts, EagleWatch, and nature walks.
Other organizations provide nature-based opportunities for youth in the Squamish area throughout the year. The Squamish River Watershed Society offers special estuary education and restoration programs. Evans Lake Forest Education Society has forest education and outdoor education programs, many in a camp setting. The Cheakamus Centre is an overnight field school and environmental studies facility.
