These videos were provided by Meg Toom, a wildlife specialist who has mounted cameras at various locations in the Squamish area.
This video shows a pair of young male Roosevelt Elk (Cervus canadensis roosevelti) testing their sparring techniques. The camera angle was quite low but we can clearly see what’s going on.
This video from the north side of the Cheekeye River shows a young Grey Wolf (Canis lupus), perhaps a “dispersed” 1-2 year-old, who seems to be curious about the camera. Meg noted that most of our wolves are this dark charcoal colour, although a few are brown.
