Work Party December 3, 2011. 1:00 to 3:00.
Remove plywood fish and birds from old Chevron fence across from the Bank of Montreal, Cleveland Avenue, Squamish town center.
Please bring #2 Robertson screwdriver if you have one … cordless drill with that fitting would be even better. If you don’t have one, no problem, you can still help!
Communities in Bloom created the display quite a number of years ago. The paint has worn off. We are planning on repainting them and using them as trail markers.
Dress for the weather. Hope to see you there.
All members and guests are welcome to attend!
We meet the third Wednesday of each month (except December) 7:00 – 9:00 PM.
Where: the Squamish Arts Council building on Cleveland Avenue, Downtown Squamish (across from the August Jack hotel, between Victoria & Main Streets).
All members and guests are welcome to attend!
Hello Birders,
The Squamish CBC is coming up soon and I would like to invite you to a day of birding and socializing, and possibly walking around in the rain all day! You don’t need to be an expert to help out.
The date is Sunday, December 18th. We will meet at McDonald’s restaurant 7:00-7:15 a.m. to register (remember $5 fee for Bird Studies Canada), then get together with your group, check out the route kit and be on your way for a day of fun by 8:00.
Most areas have somewhere warm and dry nearby to have lunch. If you need a packed lunch for your area I will let you know in advance.

Saturday, November 5th from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM there will be a work party to remove two unauthorized bridges in the Mamquam trail network, in Squamish. Alternate trails provide access around this sensitive habitat. Bridge removal has been authorized by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, District of Squamish and endorsed by the Squamish Trails Society and the Squamish Environment Society.
October 1st
Saturday, 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM; Chelem Trail parking – north of the yellow gate. Rain or Shine.
Alder pull. Alders are wonderful colonizers of disturbed land. However, on the “dredge spoils” reclamation site, in the Squamish Estuary, they are entering valuable meadow habitat. We will only be removing alders less than 1 meter tall. Most little ones can be pulled by hand, but having a few shovels would be usefull.
