Western Purple Martin Recovery Program:
The Purple Martin monitoring team are looking for volunteers to support with monitoring breeding activity at the purple Martin nest box structures in the Squamish Estuary! If you’re interested, please contact our program coordinator, Davina Dube, at ddube@naturesquamish.ca.
We’re also on the lookout for someone to create social media posts about our western purple martins on an ongoing basis. See below!
Social media:
We’re looking for someone with experience in social media and/or graphic design to assist in creating content for our channels.
- Ideally, you have some experience with using Canva and Meta business suite/other scheduling software.
- We are looking for people who ideally have knowledge (or a willingness to learn) of the following topics:
- Pollinators, to assist in creating content for our Pollinator-Friendly Squamish program
- Western purple martins (or birds in general!) to assist in creating content for our Western Purple Martin Recovery Program
Admin Support:
We are looking for an organized self starter who has 1-2 hours per week to provide administrative support on an ongoing basis.
- This role is ideal for someone who wants to learn more about Nature Squamish in a hands-on way.
- Familiarity with Google Drive, Gmail, and Canva is an asset.
- The primary role involves checking email accounts and responding to (or re-directing) inquiries in a timely manner.
- Other tasks could include compiling and formatting presentations and annual reports, digitizing and filing society documents, and organizing files and photos.
- Mentoring is available as you settle into the role.
- Tasks are primarily computer-based and can be completed from anywhere.
