Sunwolf Resort’s Lodge was packed with EagleWatch volunteers and special guests on Sunday evening, February 18. This recognition event is held every year at the close of EagleWatch season to share a meal and celebrate. Sunwolf provides the venue (which now has an accessibility ramp from the parking area to reception). Their lodge had been undergoing renovations and they made a special effort to refurnish it in time for our evening.
Just before festivities began, Larry Murray arrived with 2 cases of Eagle Watch Pale Ale, provided by Howe Sound Brewing. There were greetings and a premier screening of this year’s Eagle Run video.
The highlight of the evening is always the gift raffle, where the volunteers who have donated the largest number of hours have first choice of the gift bags. This picture, courtesy of Judith and Wolf (Knappaulis), shows only the main table of gifts: the rest were placed along the window sill on the wall beside. 61 local businesses contributed gifts on request from Judith and Wolf who wrote letters and visited businesses over and over until they found the right person to ask. Carl Halvorson finished the evening by presenting certificates of appreciation to special friends of Eagle Watch.
