Window Collision Monitoring – We Need Your Help!

Did you know that Squamish is on the Pacific Flyway, an important migratory route for birds, making it a great place for birdwatching.

But urban settings pose serious risks. In Canada, window collisions alone kill up to 42 million birds each year, and this is completely preventable!

We’re collecting information on window collisions to better understand the problem and identify where we can help.

If you discover signs of a bird-glass collision, please follow these steps to report it and contribute to a bird-friendly Squamish:

Visit birdmapper.org / scan the QR code below.
Either create a free account or continue as a guest, and click ‘Report a collision’.
Enter the required information (including photographs, location, date and time, which type of bird it was, and any notes).
If the bird is injured, head to flap.org/finding-an-injured-bird/.
